Andy Murray might have knocked Novak Djokovic off his perch as world number one last year, but the Serb’s imperious record at the Australian Open – where he’s won five of the last six tournaments – still had him favourite to return to form this year.
Obviously world number 117, Denis Istomin, didn’t read the script, as he knocked over the reigning champ in one of the biggest upsets in recent memory.
Not everyone was upset, however, as one lucky punter not only backed Istomin to win, but nailed the number of sets he’d take to do it as well – three to two.
Our punter loaded up with $750 at $101 – collecting a cool $75k in the process, which is almost enough winnings to afford a ticket to the final!
